How to Become a WSU-Pierce County
Master Gardener
To apply for the training class of 2010, you must attend one of four orientation sessions to introduce you to the program. Registration is not required to attend an orientation session and you only need to attend one. The dates and locations for the orientation sessions are as follows:
- Thursday August 27, 10am - 12pm at the Pierce County Extension Office (3049 S 36 Street, Tacoma WA)
- Tuesday September 8, 10am - 12pm at the Pierce County Extension Office (3049 S 36 Street, Tacoma WA)
- Saturday September 19, 10am - 12pm at the Puyallup MG Demonstration Garden (Victoria Rm Bldg 1107) 2607 W Pioneer, Puyallup WA
- Wednesday September 30, 6pm - 8pm at the Puyallup MG Demonstration Garden (Victoria Rm Bldg 1107) 2607 W Pioneer, Puyallup WA
The orientation session allows you to determine whether or not the Master Gardener Program is a good fit for you. It's a time for you to meet current Master Gardeners, ask questions, and receive information regarding what is expected of a WSU Pierce County Master Gardener Trainee, Intern, and Veteran.
Applications for the 2010 training are due by close of business on Friday, October 2. You must submit a self-addressed and stamped envelope with your application. You will be notified by October 9 regarding an interview.
Those candidates selected for an interview will need to be available either Tuesday, October 27 or Wednesday, October 28. You will be given a specific time and place to arrive for your interview.
